Beep! Beep!

Well, move on over ladies and gentlemen because I’m officially on the road. After three attempts (one in the UK in 2018 and another in Ireland just in July) I am de-LIGHTED to say that I finally passed my driving test last Wednesday. I feel so… light.

It had been hanging over me for a long time, not only because I’m somewhat “ripe” for a learner driver, but also because I was getting to a point where my anxiety was making me thinking I’d never do it. It took me longer to get the hang of than I care to admit, to the point where I didn’t think it would be possible, but I’m so pleased to say I finally did it.

Passing the test feels symbolic of the fact that chipping away at things works it magic. Admittedly I sometimes find the learning process a bit difficult – my impatient, perfectionist nature makes me want to know everything NOW, so much so that I don’t let myself embrace the learning and tend to give up. I guess what I’m realising is that just by chipping away at everything, bit by bit, lesson by lesson, although may not render immediate results, will always pay dividends.

Sometimes I guess it’s you have to trust the process and embrace the journey.
